Dr Alex Korenev

Expert in teaching transformation, monitoring and assessment

Dr Alex Korenev is an associate professor in the department of language teaching at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies (FFLAS) of Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU). His major research areas are language teaching and testing and the internationalisation of higher education. Alex launched the ‘Language Teachers’ Target Language’ project in 2013 with the aim of creating new teaching and testing materials for trainee EFL teachers.

Alex trains teachers to apply practical techniques for active learning and effective teaching. He has conducted training events for teachers in Russia, the UK, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Israel, Hungary, Cyprus and Latvia.

Alex has presented at numerous international conferences, including IATEFL and EALTA. He has studied and worked at several world-leading institutions, including MSU, Hokkaido University, FFLAS, University of Southampton. Alex won the Russian Presidential Scholarship in 2008 and 2011 and the Trinity College London Teacher Trainer scholarship in 2014.
