Tobias Nolte, MD, MSc
Developmental neuroscience expert
Dr Tobias Nolte is a Clinical Research Associate at University College London and Senior Researcher at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families. His research interests span early development, epistemic trust and learning, the neurobiology of social cognition as well as service implementation and institutional dynamics. He co-founded MentED, a research network the applies the mentalisation-based approach to educational settings.
Tobias works on developing and evaluating mentalising-informed curricula for teachers in a diverse range of educational settings.
Tobias lectures widely in the UK, Germany and other countries. He studied medicine in Göttingen and Lyon and subsequently completed a Master’s in Psychoanalytic Developmental Neuroscience at UCL and the Yale Child Study Centre, New Haven. He trained at the British Psychoanalytical Society and practises as a psychoanalyst (IPA).
